Same Ocean, Different Beach

Walking along the Atlantic here is a little different than a stroll on the world famous Ocean City boardwalk. The sand is a lot coarser.

Thunderstorms in the forecasr, so I took the metro part way to the next stop.

As I was wandering around trying to find where google maps was sending me, I came across this church.

Stopped inside and wow.  Just a neighborhood spot.

Beat the storm to Vila do Conde, which was a ship building and commercial center in the 15th century.  The statue honors the lace makers who were a significant part of the economy.

On my way out to dinner in the hotel, but of course the restaurant doesn’t open until 7:30.

Thanks for the many pictures. They are beautiful and make me want to be there! That church is awesome. So nice to see a memorial honoring a woman. I hope the knees are keeping up with irregular surfaces

I can't believe the grandeur of the church. Once again, the scenery is amazing. I was recently learning a bit about lace making. It's mind boggling how much work and time goes into creating a little tiny bit of lace. I loved the statue. Hope you enjoyed dinner! Debbie
