Myersdale PA to Cumberland MD

Today’s ride started off cold, 35 degrees and windy. Could explain all the windmills.

Took off for the ascent to the Eastern Continental Divide. Water on the east side flows to the Atlantic and the west side to the Gulf.  Next up is a ride through a long tunnel with a stunning view on the other side.

Standing on the PA side of the Mason Dixon Line.

Then a long downhill ride into Cumberland.

Decided to end the great bike adventure with mile 0 of the GAP.

Will do the C and O Canal next year.

Loved the bike.

Thanks for reading the blog and see everybody soon,

Anne

When I was up there in those mountains they told me that that was the windiest and coldest place in the Northeast. They said that the wind met up with and brought in the moisture from Buffalo in the great lakes ...and that when the cold and that wind from the Great Lakes gets together it makes lots of snow in that area.....35 degrees is a tough hurdle especially in shorts! You are a trooper! Nice work getting that far
